Cupitino, California — Apple today announced new Mac minis powered by the new M6 and M5 Pro chips, and new Mac Studios powered by the M5 Max and the new M5 Ultra chips, redefining the performance benchmark for desktop computers.
Mac mini: First 2nm Chip, Leap in AI Performance
The new Mac mini is Apple's first product to feature the 2nm M6 chip. The M6 chip features a 12-core CPU and a 12-core GPU, two more cores than its predecessor, and for the first time, a neural network accelerator integrated into each GPU core in the Mac mini.
In terms of performance, the Mac mini with the M6 chip offers up to 4x faster AI performance, double the storage and graphics processing speeds, and 40% faster CPU performance. LM Studio offers up to 4.8 times faster processing of large language model suggestions compared to the Mac mini with the M4 chip. It comes standard with 16GB of unified memory, expandable up to 32GB, with memory bandwidth up to 170GB/s.
For professional users, the Mac mini with the M5 Pro chip can be configured with up to 18 CPU cores and 20 GPU cores, effortlessly handling complex professional workflows such as video production and game development in its ultra-compact form factor.
Mac Studio: Apple's Most Powerful Desktop PC to Date
The new Mac Studio is positioned as the ultimate desktop PC for on-device AI and extremely demanding professional workflows. The version with the M5 Max chip features an 18 CPU core, up to 40 GPU cores (each core integrating a neural network accelerator), and up to 128GB of unified memory.
The version equipped with the M5 Ultra chip is further upgraded to a 36-core CPU and up to 80-core GPU, with a unified memory capacity of an astonishing 512GB and memory bandwidth of 1.2TB/s, a 50% improvement over the previous generation. Users can run ultra-large-scale language models entirely on-device without worrying about cloud service costs or data privacy issues.
In terms of performance, the new Mac Studio AI offers up to 4.3x faster performance, up to 2x faster storage, up to 1.8x faster GPU speeds, and up to 1.3x faster CPU speeds. The Mac Studio AI with the M5 Ultra chip delivers up to 4.3x the peak computing performance of the M3 Ultra and a staggering 9.8x the performance of the M1 Ultra.
Comprehensively Upgraded Connectivity and System
Both new models support Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 6 for the first time. The Mac mini features an upgraded 2.5Gb Ethernet port and offers a 10Gb Ethernet port configuration option. The Mac Studio features a Thunderbolt 5 port, supporting multi-system clusters and delivering up to 3x faster distributed AI inference performance compared to a single system.

Pricing and Availability Information
The new Mac mini will be available for order starting August 27th at 9:00 AM and will officially launch on September 22nd. The M6 chip version starts at ¥6,999, and the M5 Pro chip version starts at ¥12,999.
