iOS 26.1 Major New Features and Improvements
According to Apple's update notes, iOS 26.1 brings several system function optimizations and interface improvements, including:
Liquid Glass Tone Options: A new tone toggle switch allows users to choose between the default transparent appearance and the new "semi-transparent frosted" appearance, improving the opacity of materials in apps, the lock screen, and notifications.
Alarm and Timer Updates: Turning off alarms and timers now requires a swipe, improving accidental touch prevention.
Lock Screen Camera Shortcut Control: A new setting to toggle "Swipe to lock screen to open camera" has been added to the Camera app.
AirPods Real-Time Translation Adds Language Support: Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese, Japanese, Korean, and Italian (seems not yet available for Chinese versions).
